Automated Shot Peening and Blast Machines
Automatic shot peening and grit blasting machines are normally used for high production of similar parts that would not need constant machine set up. Automatic machines can also be used as an entry level automated peening or grit blasting machines although set up of nozzles can be time consuming if different parts are processed. Automated machine normally are PLC controlled with non coordinated axis motion. Most parts are mounted on a variable speed spindle drive and the nozzle is either stationary or on one axis horizontal or vertical.
Mulitple axis machines with operator touch up station provide the flexiblity of automation and manual blasting or peening.
Batch Indexing turntable offer customers high production for parts that are similar in size. The operator loads all the parts on all the fixtures then starts the cylcle and can then "walk away" until all parts are completed. The parts rotate in front of a series of nozzles that can be mounted on a combonation of nozzes axis.
Continous Indexing turntable offer customers high production for parts that are similar in size. The operator loads on a fixture while a part or parts is being processed inside the cabinet. The parts rotate in front of a series of nozzles that can be mounted on a combonation of nozzes axis. After the cycle time is over the doors open and the main table indexes.
Structural part processing for shot peening and blasting can be achieved by using a flat table and overhead nozzle travel. Multiple nozzles are normally used to provide faster process times and providing multiple impact angles.
